Day was put in asylum of sorts after numerous claims she could see the monsters. For years she excepted the fact that she was crazy but then she has a "chance encounter" with a new member named charity who tells her she is a revealer. Day can see what everyone really is, monsters wear 'skins' that she does't see. With charity's help she escapes her cage only to find there were more types of people than she ever remembered. She meets people along the way that help keep her sanity, or slowly lose it. She begins to question everything, thinking she was locked up for a reason. "Noone who sees them can really be okay."

"ouch!" I groaned out and stopped in my tracks. 'How long have we been running?', i think to myself and bend over to look at my foot which had dirt rubbed into cuts and a small corner of glass was protruding from the skin. I closed my eyes tight and with a pitiful whimper, wiggled the half inch long piece of glass from my foot.
"Come on, we can't stop now. Just a little bit longer i promise, there's a hotel i can sneak us into close by if we can keep it up.... My parents own it" Charity gleamed proudly, almost bragging actually and began effortlessly running along the pavement into the loud bustling part of the city: all the while , my feet left blood stains behind me that had gone unnoticed.
