Johnny, Bernard, and Esme are three best friends who just graduated from high school. The three of them are about to go to college and go their separate ways. Feeling scared of what the future will look like, Esme convinces Johnny and Bernard to go on a trip to Ensenada to visit her estranged cousin who distances himself from his family after coming out as gay. As they head on their trip, secrets are revealed as Johnny and Bernard have crushes on each other and never told Esme because they were worried she would react negativity since she also likes Bernard as well. Another secret is that Esme got rejected from the only college she applied to, and she doesn't know what to do next. Will their friendship survive the summer, or will they end drastically?
