n the year 2138, where the era of virtual reality gaming is thriving, Alina Yamamoto, a young African American woman in her early twenties, immerses herself in the world of YGGDRASIL, a popular DMMO-RPG. Using the Neural Nano-Interface, she becomes Celestrial Lurrsal, the "Angel of Darkness of Nazarick," a stunning celestial being with golden curls and piercing golden eyes. As one of the few remaining active members of the once-mighty Ainz Ooal Gown guild, she dedicates herself to maintaining the Great Tomb of Nazarick alongside her guild leader, Momonga.
On the final day before YGGDRASIL's shutdown, Alina and Momonga stay logged in, only to awaken in an entirely new reality where their game personas have become their true forms. Celestrial Lurrsal, now wielding the mystical Aurelian Starlight staff, finds herself in a world where NPCs have gained consciousness, and the stakes are higher than ever.
With her vast array of powers, including healing, holy magic, and elemental manipulation, Celestrial Lurrsal strives to protect Nazarick and its inhabitants. Loyal NPCs like Sebastian Michaelis, a neutral evil butler with formidable skills, and Alucard, a chaotic neutral vampire warrior, stand by her side. Together, they navigate this new world, facing challenges and forging alliances while safeguarding the legacy of Ainz Ooal Gown.
Amidst the chaos, Lurrsal's leadership and compassion shine, earning her the nickname "Lady's Radiance" from Sebastian. As they unravel the mysteries of their new reality, they discover that the bonds of friendship and loyalty are stronger than in any virtual game.
She did not expect to live for very long. Her heart was dying after all. But, after logging into Yggdrasil to see it for the last time before the servers shut down, she wakes up to find herself still in the game. Only, everyone is acting more alive than their programming allows.
So now, in a new body that doesn't hurt anymore, she just want to live and enjoy her new life with her friends in Nazarick.
Her other body was dying along with her old home anyway. She has no reason to want to go back.
(I do not own Overlord or the characters except for Astraeus.)
