(Book Four in the Marsh Silas series) Three years since the 1333rd Cadian Regiment made a final stand at Army's Meadow, Marsh Silas and the men of Bloody Platoon have veiled themselves in glory. Stars of the 10th Kasrkin Regiment, they have achieved countless victories both on the battlefield and in the halls of regimental command. Marsh Silas and Seathan Hyram are known well, for good and ill, as upstart idealists.
Yet, their plans for the future of Cadia are cut short. Astropaths whisper of distress messages from all the way in Segmentum Pacificus: Orks rampage across the segmentum and now target key worlds in the hopes of inspiring a new WAAAGH! Marsh Silas must rally his veterans as well as the rabble of many disparate new recruits to not only defeat the green menace, but continue their effort to reform the Astra Militarum.
However, far away, another seeker must contend with her own band of new arrivals and disparate forces. The former captive Maerys Desrigale, an outcast Pathfinder, returns to the Aeldari fold. Helping to build a wider coalition of distant Craftworlds, she and the Band of Kurnous plan to begin a war with the orks to hunt a rogue, but will soon contend with greater tests of their divided spirits.

[Sequel to 'Imperium'] Following the successful defense of Alamarri and the sudden withdrawal of Hepharion's Chaos Marines, Caius returned to Macragge in time to see the return of his Primarch and receive a new mission from his Captain: find Hepharion and bring him down, no matter the cost, and chase down and secure the remains of the ancient Titan project. At first, resources seem scarce with the Black Crusade taking much of the attention and firepower of the Ultramarines. However, help comes in an unexpected form when an Inquisitor's acolyte appears with an unexpected offer for the men of the Twentieth. Across the stars, Bahad is called before the Council of Farseers of his Craftworld and desperately pleads his case for his alliance with Caius and his hunt for Hepharion. (Book 5 of the Marsh Silas series) The Vellanian Campaign draws to a close and the Kasrkin of the proud 10th Regiment celebrate their victories, promotions, and rewards. It is a time of swilling amasec and dart games in the soldier halls of the newly rebuilt capital city of Ebba. Marsh Silas and his companion Seathan Hyram, now company commanders, enjoy the prospect of reforming their units for the battles ahead. However, the war is not over yet. New threats arise both in Ebba, in the countryside of sprawling maize and wheat, and even in the great freshwater ocean. Marsh Silas, Bloody Platoon, Avalanche Company, and the whole of 1st Battalion of the Red Banner Regiment prepare to finish off the remnants of the Ork invaders and finally restore peace to a rebuilding Vellania. [Sequel to 'Aquila'] Following the routing of the Chaos Marine Hepharion and his warband on the planet of Pelamon, Caius and the Ultramarines of the 20th Tactical Squad make a hasty dash for the outpost world of Alamarri VIII in an attempt to save their brothers of the Imperial Fist who have been fortifying the world under mysterious orders from the Adeptus Administratum and the Adeptus Mechanicus. Aided by Nuadan and his dwindling squad of Asuryani, Caius sets out to try and stop Hepharion and his warband before they claim another world while protecting the Titan heart salvaged from Polemeca while waiting for an Adeptus Mechanicus vessel to take it to Mars. Arriving on Alamarri, they meet Captain Finn Varis of the Imperial Fists and the Forward Engineering Battalion who reveal that the situation might be far more complicated than they would ever imagine as a series of ancient Eldar webway gates are discovered beneath the fortress.
