Once a housemaid, now a lady.
Once lovers, now strangers.

Lyra Walcott had once been truly and madly in love with the ever-stern, ever- brooding Duke of Martine. Granted, Lyra had once also been a servant to him as well. Until one night when she vanished in the night leaving him confused, desperate, and alone. Now she has reappeared a decade later masquerading as a painfully wealthy, newly widowed Lady.

But she's come back after nearly ten years with a dark secret and a blackmailer holding her past over her head. Who else can Lyra turn to other than the one man who has never betrayed her?

In the kingdom of Volturn, where alliances are forged through bloodlines and ambition, Prince Cid Volturn-the Cold Prince-has always stood apart. Born of the third queen and hardened by loss, Cid rejects the court's demands for a political marriage, refusing to chain his fate to hollow vows. To him, love is a weakness, and duty is a cage. But fate often defies even the coldest heart. During an unremarkable ride through the lower city, Cid's gaze falls upon a slave girl on the auction block. Lyra-pale as moonlight, with silver hair matted by dust and eyes like fractured starlight. Fierce, defiant, and drowning in sorrow. Without a second thought, Cid outbids the crowd, paying an outrageous price for a girl whose worth only he seems to recognize. Back at the palace, Lyra expects cruelty or indifference, but instead finds freedom in the most unlikely place: the heart of a prince who claims he seeks no love, only loyalty. When the king demands Cid marry for political gain, Cid makes an even bolder move-offering Lyra not servitude, but marriage. "You are the only soul in this court untouched by ambition," Cid tells her. "If I must marry, let it be to someone who understands the cost of chains." Bound by defiance and trust, they challenge the court's expectations and the shadows that seek to tear them apart. Yet, as Lyra's past resurfaces and Cid's enemies close in, they must decide if love, fragile and unspoken, is enough to withstand a kingdom built on ice and betrayal. For in the coldest heart, even the smallest flame can spark a revolution.

"Teach me, then. Please, you are the only one who would understand. I-" He closed in on me, towering over me with his great brown dark eyes. Full of desire, hunger. He was fighting it. Just as I have. I could feel it which meant he could too. "You won't like it-" "Yes, I will. Come on Sebastian-" His hand came over my lips, pushing me up against the wall. Hearing an abundance of footsteps from outside his classroom. Once they had left, he released me from his hold. His fiery eyes setting ablaze in my green ones. "No one, and I mean, NO ONE, calls me Sebastian. Especially........ not from my student. Got it?" * Lyra Collins, coming new to Hogwarts at her 6th year. Unfortunately for Lyra, her beginning hasn't always been the easiest one. A taunting past, heartache and struggle, have unfortunately pushed her away from her beloved school to a whole new beginning. With her mentor, Professor Ominis Gaunt, leading her through her studies and getting her up to speed, nothing could go wrong. Until she meets the tall, dark haired, handsome, devilish eyes, Professor Sebastian Sallow. She soon realizes she can't stay away, taken back by his handsome features and charming, dark personality, she must learn more. Diving into heartbreak, jealousy, pure insanity, she finds herself risking it all. Even with her own past coming back to haunt her, but her professors as well. Will Lyra Collins survive her first year at Hogwarts? Or will her own professor be the literal death of her? * SPOILER WARNING: Will contain major spoilers from the Hogwarts Legacy game. Lyra Cinder is cast out from the Fort, the largest remaining training settlement for human mages outside of the Alliance. Without a killer extinct and far too much use of her conscience, she is of no use to the mages who have refused peace with their vampire neighbors. With a band of misfits and Fort rejects, Lyra sets out on a journey to find her place as well as a meaning to all of the fighting around her. It seems like a straight forward path until Lyra comes back from a supply run to find the boys have made sport of kicking around a stray vampire. Though she wishes to release him, the sharpness of his ice eyes cuts right into her soul even shackled and beaten on the ground. This stranger could just be the death of all of them, or perhaps he could be her destiny. When Lyra runs face first into the carnage caused by a notorious masked murder known only as The Fool, she is helpless to stop him from slaughtering the soldiers of the Zero rebellion. Though the Zero started as a vampire-hating group that threw society to the brink of extinction, most now are just humans run from their homes in times of war and desperate for shelter or food and willing to fight for it. The world is brittle and broken, and Lyra finds herself walking the same path as The Fool, whether it be breaking bread or chasing him down to stop his rampage. On that path, she meets allies, a man she loves even though their chances are slim, and she hopes that all of them can find a way to peace.

After the war, Lyra Potter is utterly, completely, and unapologetically done with the wizarding world. The media? Shitstorm. The Ministry? Corrupt as ever. The so-called Light Lords? Idiots. The so-called Dark Lords? Even bigger idiots. So, despite her well-meaning (but infuriating) friends, Lyra packs up, flips the wizarding world the metaphorical bird, takes her godson Teddy, and vanishes. Her destination? Mystic Falls. A quiet, unassuming town where one of her Black ancestors once built a lavish estate-the Black Palace. She hopes for peace and quiet-a fresh start, away from magic, war, and endless expectations. But deep down? She knows better. There is no peace for her. Why? Because she is, after all, Death's Little Angel of Chaos. And a Potter. She doesn't seek trouble. Trouble finds her. And so, before she even realizes it, she's swept up in yet another whirlwind- Only this time, it's not scheming politicians, megalomaniac wizards, or dark prophecies. This time, it's- Vampires. Werewolves. Shapeshifters. Doppelgängers-apparently, she's one. An ancient ancestor who oddly approves of her. An annoying twin she has zero interest in. Two ridiculously dramatic vampire brothers. And an entire family of goddamn Originals. What has the world come to? Nothing. Just a storm called love hitting her in the most unexpected way. Her? Entangled with the Original Hybrid of all people? And did she mention she has her little godson with her? "You have got to be joking," she thinks.
