"If you give a guy enough space, he will be his own kind of creepy honey. It has nothing to do with you." Mara looked into the mirror, giving herself pep talk number 10. "It was just another bad date-probably the last one," she sighed and fell into despair. "I am just a girl standing in front of a mirror, asking for the bare minimum. Is that too much to hope for!?"
Mara Bamar is optimistic; though she is nearing the end, well of her twenties, she is determined to date the right man, no matter how long it will take to find one. She thought that after terrible relationships, working on herself, taking therapy, and raising her standards(by reading all available literature) now was the time to find something good. After all, there are many fish in the sea, or so she thought.

We have all been on terrible dates, right? We have all gone out with people with terrible personalities, quirks, or characters. These dates lead to days when you want to be hopeful but have just met too many weirdos to have faith. This book is for us daters to show that we are not alone in this perilous universe of modern dating and that there are more red than green flags, but at least we get funny stories out of it.
Men written by women are ideal beings who teach us what green flags are and what you must seek from your story's love interest. The men in this book are not ideal for any scenario. These characters are solely for comedy and caution. If you ever come face to face with such specimens, then please make sure to run the other way.
The following incidents are inspirations and adaptations of real events that have happened to the author and the women/men she knows. Trauma makes a person funnier; hence, I will unload all my hilarious trauma into this story. So go have a laugh.

But what she did not expect was to show up on the first day of school to all three of her friends now in relationships. Fighting for their attention, catching some new and confusing feelings for long-time frenemy James, and wading through the pressures of post-high-school plans all have Lara reeling. And to make matters worse, Lara's beautiful and untrustworthy cousin conveniently appears and wiggles her way right between her and James' budding relationship. Feeling like a third wheel in more ways than one, Lara must learn to accept that change is inevitable, love is complicated, and being the odd one out is sometimes where inner power is found.
