What if Manon had soundly broken up with Rody and didn't rebound with Vince? Would interest have begun to develop between the two organically rather than Rody forcing himself through work for Manon while Vincent's interest in him was tempered by his desire to learn the secret to reacquiring taste? Without the dark undercurrents and maybe with a little bit of empathy, could things be different for them? Vincent had his sweet moments afterall. And Rody could be kinder and more curious when Manon wasn't involved.
