"Why are we going towards the sirens?!" The guy in the middle back seat exclaimed.
"I know what I'm doing," I insisted, taking another turn down the unfamiliar streets.
"I'm just saying, logically, we should be going away from the menacing sirens," he gestures with his arms behind us.
My partner decided to jump in as well, "I kind of agree with him on this one."
I shot them a look in the rear view, "If you have a problem with it then maybe you should have taken your own fucking cars."
The guy behind me scoffed.
We swerved into a neighborhood and I could hear the sirens getting closer which was putting everyone on edge. My eyes flashed to a driveway that was empty and hidden by hedges along the side.

With a spin of the wheel, the tires screeched in protest as the cranky old car went lurching over and the guys in the back let out frightened shouts. Even Conner grabbed a hold of his door and placed a hand on the dash.
The vehicle came to a sharp halt and I shut it off, making it all go dark. We all watched as red and blue lights flashed through the night air before a couple patrol cars went zooming by. Nobody dared to break the silence by even breathing. But, after a moment, I groaned, dropping my head against the steering wheel.
How had this night gone from fun to me being the getaway driver for a bunch of strangers?
