Limerence is a state of mind that involves obsessive attachment to another person. This can also known as the "limerent object" (LO). It can feel like a strong, irrational form of love, and is characterized by a longing for the LO's attention and a desire for the relationship to be reciprocated. Limerence is different from love or lust because it's based on the uncertainty of whether the LO also desires you.
