High School is a time for many to figure out what to do with their lives. I was just happy to have a great family and great friends while also being able to play football. Instead of partying and not caring about the future as seen on movies and television, I was preparing to serve an LDS mission.

When it comes to sports, the only moments highlighted and broadcasted are those that are golden, when an athlete is at the top of the mountain, fearless. The trouble is that the lowest points in our lives are ignored and clouded out. It is at these times where one's character truly shows. All Sam Delmont has ever known was football. From the age of six, he's just been the boy who fell in love with the game and never looked back with nothing in his way. As the starting wide receiver for his junior year, Sam was on top of his high-horse with no intention of coming down. However, after sustaining serious injury early in the season, he experiences what it's like to have his world taken away from him, and faces a battle with his own attitude. What decisions will Sam make during his road to recovery? A story detailing not the sport itself, but everything that is not seen- how an athlete deals with status, pressure, attitude, and fear. Find out in perspective why nothing should ever be taken for granted, and learn that once you give up, you may never go back.
