Lyra thought she would only know the gods in death; left to live a quiet life, caring for the cemetery of Arental, cursed to loneliness by the bodies she guards. Rowan sees death too, once a wealthy Fae lord, now imprisoned in the mad kings dungeon, awaiting his execution. Until the mysterious human girl from his dreams unlocks his cell. Thrown together Rowan soon discovers the gods have quite a bit planned for them; and despite Lyra's reluctance, he's all in. 

Together they must stop the oncoming war, a war that will destroy both their homes and release a eons old evil back into the world. Passion and tension wage war along a dangerous journey, bringing the two closer then either of them bargained for and leaving them wondering if teamwork was all the gods had in mind for them.
