Valentina and Riley are both in college but Val is a senior in college and Riley is a freshman in college.
Valentina always liked Riley because of how much Riley admired Val and saw her as a sister, but since Riley scored 2 goals at skills camp, Riley became the "new val" and also made a new friend, Taylor. Val still got attention but not as much as Riley while at school. Val doesn't want to admit that she's jealous and might never will but she knows deep down that she is.
