A council of scientists unveiled an experimental machine-the Particle Accelerator. Its purpose was veiled in equal parts ambition and desperation: to harness a boundless new source of energy, or perhaps to forge a weapon that could alter the balance of power across Terra. But their gamble tore a wound in the very fabric of reality. Through the rift they opened, another world was revealed-strange, vast, and untamed. At first, awe overcame fear.
