~Fanfiction based on the TV show Downton Abbey~ What if Sybil Crawley wasn't the youngest daughter of Lord and Lady Grantham? In 1896, Cora gave birth to a girl. The girls parents named her Evangeline Martha Crawley. Evangeline was always by the piano with her grandmother Violet (Dowager Countess of Grantham), playing with her elder sisters and the family dog, or baking biscuits with Mrs. Patmore while singing a tune the Countess had taught her. It was then that she was known as: 'The Angel of the Abbey'. Little did the residents of Downton Abbey know that July 15th 1901, Evangeline's 5th birthday, would take a turn for the worst. Not only was it her birthday, it was the day of the summer festival that is held yearly at Downton Abbey. Many people came to celebrate and have a wonderful time with their families, playing games, and grabbing a rare opportunity to socialise with Lord and Lady Grantham, and the Dowager. However, a fire had broken out inside the building. Screams of panic could be heard over Lord Grantham ordering everyone to evacuate and immediately contact the fire brigade, but what the family didn't know was that Evangeline had gone missing. What happened to her? Where could she be? For many years, people have searched for her, only to come up with nothing. A few people pretended to be the missing Crawley as years went by, but none had succeeded. And so, as time moved forward, so did many people, but the loss of the youngest Crawley remains forever in the hearts of the residents of Downton Abbey, including the staff. Will the Crawley family ever find their angel again? (This will follow through season 1 - season 6) #1 in downtonabbey as of 03/09/2024 **Disclaimer: I own absolutely nothing, with the exception of my OC's, and of course, this fanfic. This is literally a fanfic made for fans of fans - nothing more, nothing less**
The Lady in Disguise by AbbyWheelerRomance
50 parts Ongoing
At a house party, a case of mistaken identity goes too far, compelling a lady's maid to play the part of a lady, risking her livelihood... and her heart! Emilia has always endeavored to be a humble and dutiful lady's maid, but the former seems beyond her and the latter... Well, there is only so much that can be asked! As a student of fashion, Emilia's goals weren't lofty. All she wished for was a charge who allowed her to make her mark in some small way, whether with hair, accessories, or a well-draped gown. Unfortunately, Prudence Crewe is the most unapologetically unfashionable bluestocking society has ever known. As if that weren't bad enough, now Pru expects her to take her place and her very identity at a house party! Emilia must navigate this mad charade while playing the part of Miss Prudence Crewe, putting off fortune hunters, thwarting a saboteur, trying not to enjoy living a life she only dreamed of, or even worse, falling in love. ********** Daniel Byrne, confident, rich and ruthless, may be a fatherless, Irish mongrel in the eyes of the Beau Monde, but he knows his worth and it can be measured in bank notes. For years he's thrown the kind of parties the younger men of The Ton couldn't resist. Now for The Ton to accept him or, at the very least, find him impossible to ignore, he only has only to make a good match. "Prudence Crewe" does not suit his needs at all. She's not high-born enough to raise his profile, poor enough to need his money, nor scandalous enough to make him interesting. Yet he can't dismiss her knowing glances, plain-spoken observations, and when circumstances throw them together, he doesn't wish to dismiss her at all... Book Two of The Crewe Legacy. Book One is The Lady Pursues. You don't necessarily need to read it in order to understand this one, but I recommend doing so as it will greatly enhance your enjoyment of the characters, meeting them there first.

"Deliciously captivating! It's the perfect amount of laughs, love and drama. You won't be able to put this book down!" - Grace K @ HQ. When Agatha becomes the Everard's governess, she's grateful for a way to escape her dark past. That is until her growing feelings for the mysterious Lord of the house begin to present an even greater risk. ***** The Everard's are one of the most esteemed families in Wickhurst. And Benedict, the Lord of Devonshire and the eldest of the clan, is as mysterious and brooding as anyone The Town has ever seen. His face is marked with scars, and no one dares to speak on how he got them. Known to all as 'the beast,' the townsfolk tremble in his wake. But little does he know that he is about to meet his match in Agatha Blair, his sisters' new governess. Agatha is witty, smart and gives him a run for his money when he tries to peel back the layers of who she really is. She truly intrigues him more than any woman he has met but she is a governess and he is a Lord. The Town would shun the union of two people from different stations and any romance between them is surely a recipe for social disaster! But what can they do when the burning hot feelings refuse to relent? And when Benedict uncovers that Agatha is hiding a secret far more dangerous than anything he could have imagined, will love save the day and will Agatha finally tame the beast? *This story is a standalone title in the Everard Family series. And if so, to whom can she trust? Or should she run while she still has the chance?
