"Happiness once shone bright and true,
A warm embrace that filled my heart anew.
But like a fleeting dream, it faded fast,
Leaving only sorrow, a lasting cast.

Smiles on faces, once a joy to see,
Now mock me, a bittersweet melody.
Their laughter echoes, a haunting refrain,
A reminder of joy that cannot remain.

Death's sweet release, I long to embrace,
To escape the ache that fills this empty space.
But life clings on, a stubborn, cruel fate,
Forcing me to face another dismal date.

Each day I wake, a heavy heart I bear,
A burden to carry, with no escape to share.
Yet still I rise, to face the day's cold light,
A prisoner of life, without the peace of night."
