X the Hedgehog, also known as X the Dark is a being created by the demon Mephiles. He was send to kill his own brother, Alexander at age 4, but he held back and failed. He grew up under the guardianship of Miles Tails Prower, and his other children, to eventually fight and defeat his father sending him to Hell for eternity, not even being able to be wished back by the Dragon Balls. His brother Alexander comes back, and plots to torture and kill his brother for what he did, not knowing it was his father who forced X to do it. X and Alexander were locked in battle until when Alexander was at the brink of death he had said that there were even more of their brethren coming to destroy X and his friends. X went into his Dark form and he and Zeo fought against the army of demons, until it was finally over. But little did he know, X had killed one of his loved ones. His life was changed forever, for better, or for worse...

After a long fight with Metal Sonic, as both he and Metal became super, Sonic was defeated but Eggman pulled the Chaos Emeralds from Sonic and Metal Sonic before the robot hedgehog could deliver the final blow. Eggman disowned Metal and called him useless before firing the cannon. But Metal chose to take the Chaos Emeralds when the portal became unstable and turned into a black hole. While grabbing the Ruby, Metal Sonic sacrificed himself to save the world, making everyone believe him to be gone... However, they did not know that he was sent to an alternate dimension, where he would begin his new life becoming a hero in the SMG4 universe, proving he will be a better hero than Sonic.
