The entire story has been published from Chapter 1 to the Epilogue. It is broken into three parts, each quite distinct from the others as Syd's life is altered dramatically. This thing is a labor of love. After completing the story, I realized how much it meant to me personally. I learned things about myself I did not know until I wrote it. I feel as if from writing "Sound of a Broken Drum", my life has changed. In the way I perceive it and in the way I perceive the world around me. This story is not for everyone. There are a lot of people I know who would never want to read something like this. It's not for the apathetic, the privileged, the ones who coast and indulge in the bullshit. I know a lot of people like that. Maybe I wrote it as a means to get away from them. There are certainly people I feel who would read something like this. The mentally-pained, the loners, introverts, the lonely, those who struggle through the everyday things many people take for granted. Those who know too much. And feel too much. I know what that is like. And I know this is why I wrote it. Because we can share each other's experiences through words, no one has to ever feel like they are alone, regardless of how distant the world is. And regardless of how much trash and clutter from society there is in the way of your field of vision, always know there are those few you will find who will make the struggle well-worth it. When Shen Wei ran away at the age of 15 years old, he never thought that he would come back again, trying to untie the knot that had been lingering in his heart for years, he came back once again trying to understand some events, but to be honest, for him, it is just an excuse, he just wants to see the lights once again, to be able to proudly says "Mom, I have made it, the sinner have already been punished and you have nothing to worry about anymore". Even if it means to drag others down to hell with him. Shen Wei, "Because since the beginning, we have not been given a choice, we have been entangled in this trap, if we don't struggle to get away, you and I will surely lose. And I.. am not the type of person who will easily let other people bully me" Notes: First time making my own character, I think it will be hard for me to clearly describe how the character would be, but I will try my best. I must say first that the timeline is around the early 20th century.. probably, it is fictional, so there must be things that are different compared to the history.
