They were always warned that if they didn't take care of the earth it would start to fight back. Now that Mother Nature no longer wants to put up with humans most are forced to stay home in fear of catching the virus. Only a few can go out for hours and survive. Max and Rose are sent to another planet to begin their lives and set up the new civilization so the rest of the world could join them. They never end up making it to the planet and find themselves stranded in a place they ever even knew existed.
