Taken in by the Scout Regiment right after her parents' tragic end, Artemis Everheart is preparing for the years of hell that await her as a soldier. But she was a realist and was more than thankful for at least being given the option of an actual future instead of living on the street. The people she meets later on help to ease her fears and struggles. A tall, blond guy, in particular. At least, until the secrets of the world are finally revealed, and she finds herself lost once more.
