As they embarked on their college journey, Fumiko and Aaliyah quickly realized that the academic rigors and social expectations they faced were formidable obstacles that required a delicate balance to overcome. The literature highlighted that for beginning college students who are already dealing with a new environment, more difficult classes, and life away from home, this process may be intimidating and overwhelmin.
