The bustling city of Calcutta in the late 19th century. The British Raj is at its peak. Asha Rao, a spirited and fiercely independent young woman. Captain Edward Harrington, an English officer stationed in Calcutta. Her world is turned upside down when her parents insist that she marries to secure the family's social standing. She buries herself in her studies in the University of Calcutta to escape the mounting pressure on her. He finds himself increasingly disillusioned with the rigid British societal norms and the colonial enterprise. He is a man of intellect and compassion, who believes in understanding and appreciating local culture, rather than imposing rules. Their paths cross, and romance blooms.. a forbidden romance. Will they overcome all the hurdles in their path to happiness?
