"I am the sword of the crown, the shield of the realm and protector of the people. Without doubt, without failure, I shall guard the innocents against the malignant forces of magic. I give my heart and soul to the righteous and pray for the Father's mercy, for I shall show none."

Sir Rolan Coytak, a paladin of the Holy Paladin Order of Farikesh, a seasoned and grizzled knight of twenty long years, is sent on a mission to the lands south of the Kingdom of Harliya, Amberfall, to investigate the rumours of blood magic. Travelling with his clumsy and naive squire, Rolan is greeted by many people, many with grace and dignity, others with suspicion.

He is told by the Baron of these lands, the young Simon Greycrow, about bandits in ruins deep within the Redwoods of Amber that may hold what he seeks. But as Rolan travels these dark, beautiful, eerie forests, he learns that magic is not the only problem these lands have.

Facing a great challenge as he uncovers the truth of the rumours, Rolan must make a decision that may haunt him for the rest of his life.

IRON HAND (BOOK ONE): FOR THE GREATER GOOD by LowHale
34 parts Complete Mature
"Iron Hand" begins in the throes of what most stories would consider the final battle. Buren, leading the "Seekers of the Artifact," utilizes the power of the Gauntlet, an ancient artifact for which he sacrificed his own arm and triumphs over the dark lord, ending the undead scourge plaguing the lands. Without a foe to unify them, the alliance of various racial, religious, and political factions begins to unravel. Reluctant negotiations result in an uneasy peace that leaves many dissatisfied, especially Buren. Now feared and distrusted for the power of the Gauntlet, Buren finds no respite. Dark visions he believes to be warnings from the Gauntlet haunt his dreams. However, his fears are dismissed as the delusions of a war-weary mind. Determined to confront this new threat, Buren follows his visions to an ancient mountain, located within the sacred grounds of the Dryads. The distrustful Dryads deny him access. Out of options, Buren infiltrates the Faith, a fanatical human supremacist religious order, becoming their enforcer, their "Iron Hand." As Buren travels, we delve into the backstories of the "Seekers of the Artifact," witnessing his navigation through a treacherous web of intrigue where trust is a luxury he cannot afford. The realm suffers under a despotic king, with whom Buren must ally on the surface, while secretly plotting his downfall. The situation is further complicated by his arranged marriage to a woman harboring her own dark secrets. Literary heroes sacrifice everything for others, but what happens when saving the world requires sacrifices from everyone? When do the ends cease to justify the means?. What if saving the world involves sacrificing innocents, betraying loved ones, and allying with despised enemies? "Iron Hand" is a story of a man who gave everything to save the world once and is now prepared to do so again, even if it means crossing lines he never thought he would. But will he still be hailed as a hero?

In the frozen wilderness beyond the village walls, survival isn't guaranteed-it's earned. Grey, a sharp-eyed young hunter gifted with the ability to see ethereal threads of light connecting all living things, walks a thin line between life and death with every step into the snowbound forests. His gift is his greatest tool-and his deepest secret. When the Grand Hunt leads Grey and his squad to a chilling encounter with a monstrous creature and a group of robed strangers led by a sinister old man, the world he thought he knew begins to crack. Ancient powers stir beneath the frost, and the old man's magic reveals a truth far more terrifying than the dangers of the frozen woods. As the village reels from loss, Grey finds himself facing impossible choices. His gift, once a quiet advantage, now feels like a curse drawing him deeper into a conflict he doesn't understand. Shadows whisper of forgotten paths-ancient roads walked by those who sought strength not just to survive, but to transcend. Paths where power can be cultivated, honed, and wielded by those willing to sacrifice everything. But power always comes at a cost. Blood stains the frost, alliances are tested, and every step deeper into the unknown pulls Grey closer to a path he may not be ready to tread-a path where strength isn't just survival, but transformation. And in the depths of the wilderness, where cold winds carry secrets and danger lurks with every shadow, Grey must decide if he's willing to pay the price for what lies beyond.

[COMPLETED] I was cursed at such a young age, abandoned by my own wolf and the Moon Goddess for something that wasn't in my control. I don't even think having a mate is in the cards for me... ✨🌘✨ I jumped when the final horn sounded, circling the garden before everyone became silent. They all returned to their seats, my father rising from his chair as I stood from my seat along with the other pups. I struggled to breath as we took our position, standing in the centre away from everyone else. My father offered me a reassuring glance though it did nothing to ease my anxiety, all I had to do now was wait. My eyes widened when the moons blue light shined down on me, illuminating my skin as I stared up at the sky in awe. "We thank the moon goddess for the power of her light..." I dropped my gaze back down, my fathers words surrounding us, "...Shall it bathe you and grant you strength, agility, speed like the wolf..." The pups around me began to moan in pain, capturing my attention as I furrowed my brows. Their features were all contorted by an invisible pain that inflicted them but I felt absolutely nothing. My heart raced when their groans of pain became screams but I- I suddenly drop to the ground, a painful throbbing in my head forcing me to the ground. I grip the sides of my head, screaming. I don't know how to explain it but it felt as though my brain was tearing in two, like my head was cracking open. When the pain stopped, I found myself surrounded by wolves, the shifted pups. Looking down at myself, I only see my body, no paws and no fur. I hadn't shifted... ✨🌕✨ Book 2* 'The Wolven King' is the first book and must be read in order to understand this one. ⚠️ WARNING!! "You're playing with fire Safania." "Good thing I don't burn." The last words he spoke before throwing me onto my bed sounded like a threat, but felt more like a promise. "You will." *** Don't get caught. Those are the three words Safania has lived by for the past five years. As a marked woman - easily identified by intricate bronze marks on her back and unpredictable special abilities - she has spent the past five years running from anyone who might exploit those abilities...especially the royal families who tortured marked women to build their empires. Starving, exhausted, and frozen, she collapses by the bank of a river just to wake up in her worst nightmare: the chambers of a prince. Prince Cassius is his father's first choice of his three brothers to ascend to the throne. He's smart, strategic, and stoic, unlike his corrupt and depraved brothers. There's just one problem: he has no interest in any of his proposed marital matches, and the King will only pick someone as his successor who he knows will carry on the family line. But once he meets Safania, he finds himself unable to imagine ruling the kingdom without her by his side. Can he convince her to trust him? *** Warning: this story contains mature and potentially triggering themes including domestic violence and sexual assault. Reader discretion is advised.
