Mari hasn't been back to the beach house in five years. The place that had been the backdrop of her childhood was now just a painful reminder of everything she'd lost. When her brother Brady decides it's time to face the demons she's been carrying around from her past, they go back together, to the place where it all went wrong. Being back is uncomfortable, not only because it reminds her of the guilt she never let go of, but also because of the boy next door Ethan who she thought she had something with all those years ago only to have her heart broken. This summer is the chance to take back her life, let go of her pain, and even if she can't rewrite her past, she can certainly start to create her future. She hopes.
