Only Skeletons Remain follows the intertwined stories of three generations bound by the oppressive grip of DEMA, a city of neon lights and despair.
Miguel, a Bandito rebel and former Lorekeeper, struggles to free his family from the tyrannical rule of the DEMA High Council. After escaping and discovering his father's grave in the Neon Graveyard, he becomes embroiled in a war for survival, ultimately forced to lead the Banditos after the death of their leader. Haunted by his transformation into a bishop, Miguel's journey is one of sacrifice, rebellion, and self-redemption as he battles to dismantle DEMA's control over their world.
Years later, Javier took on the role of Lorekeeper, tasked with preserving the history of those lost to DEMA's cruelty. His path leads him into the secrets of the council and the power of forbidden knowledge, putting him at odds with the rulers of the city. His quiet defiance and cunning stewardship of the Lorekeeper's archives laid the foundation for the Banditos' future uprising.
Years later, Harper, Javier's daughter, embarks on her own journey to break free from DEMA's brainwashing, leading her siblings and allies in a fight for freedom. Corrupted and manipulated by the High Council, she must face the darkness within and around her as she unravels the mysteries of her family's past and takes up the torch to destroy DEMA once and for all.

It isn't until his 22nd year that he learns of the horrors committed within the city he serves and the dark secrets behind the law of Vialism. Feeling betrayed and seeking understanding, the fearful, timid servant joins a gang of rebels, known as the Banditos, to bravely seek the truth that's been hidden from him. Yet his journey only grows more complicated, as factional lines aren't always black and white. As Clancy learns more about a mysterious traveler named Tyler, who is torn between the two worlds, he finds himself in the middle of an impending war. I am a citizen of Dema. I am an escapee. I have failed time and time again. I have never seen the world outside this city, but one day I hope to. One day I will. My friend Clancy is like me. He is a citizen of Dema. He is an escapee. He is an exception. He has seen the world outside these imposing walls. He tells me about these people he's seen. He hasn't been able to speak with them yet, but he gets closer with each escape. I'm going to ask him to take me the next time he goes. I want to see these people for myself. I want to know if we can survive outside of Dema. Because I want to live. Øverturning the lies (a twenty one pilots fanfiction)
Tyler is alone in the city of Dema. He can't remember who he was before then. All he knows now is trying to survive in this world. He sees others around him who are struggling too, and he wants to help them. But he can't. He can't even seem to help himself. He keeps thinking he sees his best fren, Josh, but he's still not sure if its really him or if the city has finally driven him insane. His life now is nothing but fear. And there doesn't seem to be a way to fix that. Maybe there is...but maybe there isn't. The thing is, he's too afraid to find out. Fear is how they control you. The bishops. They see everything you do. And they want to destroy you. So don't bother fighting. They'll come for you. They'll come for you when you least expect it. Possible trigger warning: self-harm/suicide. This story is about overcoming that and overcoming depression. But it might be triggering to some readers. I'll add trigger warnings to those parts.
