This is a living book of short stories that will grow over time. It may not all be in this first book of stories, but in follow-on tomes.  These stories are all based in the universe of "Pearls of the Mother," the same universe from which the "Duncan and Lilly" stories live.  Some of these stories may overlap, and some may be continuations of another, but they are all part of the same universe.  I created these as part of my "World Building and Backstory" system, and I've come to love them just as much as the books.  I hope you will, too.  Every time a question came up while writing one story, I wrote another story to answer the question.  I guess it really is true ... For in the greater realm of "Pearls of the Mother" ... each story is another Pearl, and each Pearl another story. :)All Rights Reserved

Illogies Un by DuaneClancy

A few seasons ago, I participated in NaNoWriMo with the goal of writing a story a day for the entire month of November. I was able to do this and ended up with well over 50,000 words for the month. This book ended up with around 43K words, but it is missing a few stories. I didn't want to put anything that goes with "Pearls of the Mother" in the "Illogies." Each day I sat down to write, I had a different mood or something else I was thinking about, and I let that guide my writing process. I think a couple of these may end up with follow-on stories or maybe even books of their own. I hope you enjoy these; I know I do.

The idea of the story is to present the experience of learning to understand and comfort someone through these struggles. So while these themes are contained within a comical styled story, they are still present so please be mindful of that before you read on. You. You're just a normal girl. You don't know. But you want too. Determination fills you with a desire to seek more about this boy. There's just something about him that makes you want to know more. He meets your eye. Is a name really too much to ask? He refuses to give you one. If you keep investigating, you'll get hurt. You'll be killed. You'll regret it. It's not a warning. It's simply the truth. You've been noticing strange things going on. He's not in any records. A shotgun fire?! He has wounds that heal all too quickly. How can a boy get shot and heal by the very next day? (This book is a representation of my experiences with dating someone with depression in high school. I wrote it while we were dating, subconsciously writing him into the character Infinity. I will say that I intend to rewrite this at some point to send a better message, as I feel some of the actions in this book are unhealthy reactions to depression, that I have a much better perspective of now) [I'm also working on a VN based on this story.... If my studies would stop getting in the way]
