In my English 11 class, we got to pick one of the famous Harris Burdick mystery pictures & captions and write a story for it, and this is what I had come up with. We had to use the characters in the picture, as well as the caption.

Here's what bull that I came up with, but had a ton of fun writing. It details a strange, or maybe not strange at all, day in a small, isolated town called July, which daunted by the presence of the town lake dubbed "Samhain."

Rated PG-13. It's a wee bit macabre.
