His eyes sparkle wickedly, as he smirks down at me. "You obviously don't know who I am do you?"

He really expects me to know who he is?

I burst out laughing and roll my eyes, "Obviously you aren't important enough for me to know."

His face is now dangerously close to mine and for a second I swear he is going to kiss me. Instead, his lips brush my ear, sending shock waves throughout my whole body. I don't think I can push him away even if I tried.

His voice is low and husky in my ear, "My name is Marcus Declan, and I am powerful enough to buy you and every last thing you own."

"Tell me to leave," he said, his voice a low, dangerous whisper that sent shivers cascading down my spine. My breath hitched as I met his piercing gaze, my heart racing in my chest. "And if I don't?" His lips curled into a slow, wicked smile, his eyes dark and consuming, laced with something that made my pulse quicken. He leaned closer, his voice dropping even further. "Then don't blame me for what happens next." "You're playing a very dangerous game, Leo," I managed to say, though my voice trembled as my eyes flicked to his lips. "Am I?" he murmured, his tone soft yet devastating. "Because from where I'm standing, you're the one pulling the strings." His smirk was ever-present, and the amusement dancing in his eyes told me he was thoroughly enjoying this-and it was dangerous for both of us. ~~~~ They were both hiding, but neither expected to be found. Calista Carlisle, Hollywood's sweetheart, escapes to the sleepy town of Mendocino after a public breakup turns her life into tabloid fodder. She's traded red carpets for creaky coffee shop chairs, hoping to stay invisible. But nothing stays quiet for long-not when Leo Donovan, the maddeningly smug owner of the café, keeps finding ways to break through her defenses. Leo isn't just any barista. Billionaire by birth, recluse by choice, he's traded boardrooms for espresso machines, running his late mother's café chain under the radar. He's done with the high-stakes world of fame and fortune-until Calista waltzes into his café and flips his carefully curated life upside down. Their connection is magnetic, but the secrets they're running from might pull them apart. In a town too small for pasts as messy as theirs, one thing becomes clear: they're either each other's safe haven-or their ultimate undoing. "They were supposed to be each other's escape-until they became each other's greatest temptation."

His cold eyes moved from my face to all over my white lace dress with a clenched jaw. I felt weak in my knees but I was successful in keeping my brave face. "Nina is that you? You are looking so beautiful" he said while looking at me. I blushed I was still feeling burning holes in my back I gulp down nervously. "Have some drink?" he said while taking a glass from the waiter. "No she is leaving," said the harsh voice next thing I know champagne was all over my dress staining it and making me gasp. Before I could react he gripped my hand & dragged me near the pool area where no one could see us. I snatched my hand away from his tight grip "Why the hell you ruined my dress" I half yelled. "What the fuck you are doing at my party looking like a slut" he yelled angrily while pinning me to the wall. Listening to his words my blood boiled. "Let me guess you came here to ruin my mood by showing your ugly face," he said with an angry smirk letting me know his hate. "Stop giving yourself so much importance. I'm here for your mom. My face may be ugly but ugly souls like you are not even worthy of my life's single second" I said angrily and pushed him away from me but he didn't let me go away. "I can hide my ugly soul beside this face but ugly ducklings like you carry their ugliness which can't even be hidden by beautiful dresses because they stain everything around them with their ugliness" his words were hurting my soul. I won't give him the privilege to see my tears. With all my power I pushed him making him stumble and fall into the pool. "Happy birthday," saying that I tried to walk away with a victory smirk but he didn't let me go. Things he did to me after that still send a shiver down my spine. One thing was clear that day I would never want to see his face again in this life. But I don't know why the hell I am standing in front of him in church wearing a wedding gown. Looking at his victory angry smirk plastered to his face with my glassy eyes.

"W-What do you want?" I stammered, my eyes not leaving his gaze on me. "I want to prove you wrong." he smirks dangerously and speaks with his husky, deep voice. He took another step towards me and I took another step back making me collide with the wall. He hovers over me, his chest mere inches away from mine. He kept his hand on either side of me, caging me in his arms. He smirks dangerously and says, "That your body doesn't crave for my touch." He always does this, he intimidates me and then thinks I die for his touch. I would never allow his hand near me. Again. I grit my teeth and said "My body doesn't." He leaned closer to me, his hard chest pressing against my hardened nipples and whispered near my ear "Then why are you so nervous, rose?" He kept his mouth near my ear and his hand came on my bare legs. He slowly trailed his big, rough hands, making his way under my skirt. My breath hitched and he stopped mere inches from my core. No matter how hard I try to deny his touch, my body responds exactly the way he wants. My spine arched and my eyes snapped close. He gently held my chin in between his fingers, tilting my head up so that our eyes could lock in on each other. "You're so pretty, you make nervous," I quietly confessed. A blush made its way on both of our faces, making laughter fly past my lips. He's so cute. He shook his head and brought the blunt in his hand to his lips, taking a long drag. I curiously looked up at him through my lashes, secretly wanting to try it. As if he knew what was going through my mind, he gripped my face in his hand and bent down, pulling us closer together. My heart thumped against my chest, begging to be let free. "Uh-" He cut me off by placing his lips on mine, making my eyes widen when I felt him allowing the smoke to blow into my mouth.
