It is satire and speculation, with the hope that our real future is nothing like this one. Asked about Nineteen Eighty-Four, Orwell said he hoped it would not come true, describing his book as a warning. After the recent election, Twenty Sixty-Four reimagines Orwell's classic in the spirit of keeping that intention alive.
