This was known as the Golden Age until an ancient evil known as the Darkness that hunted the Traveler finally found it in our solar system. Everything was destroyed and this was known as the Collapse. Humanity would've become extinct if the Traveler hadn't of sacrificed itself, pushing back the Darkness with its Light. And with the last of the Traveler's strength, it created Ghosts, little mechanical beings to search for deceased people who are capable of wielding the Light as a weapon.
