The story follows Arya Jayce, a young woman whose life is shattered when monstrous creatures, known as "the Messengers," descend upon the Earth.  During a family vacation in Cebu City, Arya witnesses the horrific destruction caused by these creatures and the loss of her parents.  Haunted by guilt and grief, she must find a way to survive in a world consumed by chaos, alongside her younger brother, Ethan.
