Ivy wakes up in a box, moving faster and faster towards the top. But she's not alone in that box, there's a boy.

She doesn't remember anything.

She makes friends with everyone in the glade, plus Gally. But he confuses her, she doesn't understand him, he's nice to her one minute, and an asshole to her the next.

Gally doesn't understand his feelings either, it's the first time he can remember feeling them, he tries his hardest to control them, but he just can't. Does he like her?

Once the gladers find a way out of the maze, Ivy gets lost in the maze. She finds her way out. And her and Gally are saved by the right arm.

Gally's stuck in the medical centre, but ivys in training to become a guard instead of going to the safe haven.

The second her head hits the pillow on her first night in the right arm. A memory comes to her.

It's her, and a boy, when they were little kids. The little boy is a splitting image of Ivy. They were playing.

Who is this boy? What does this dream mean? Ivy doesn't know, but she's determined to find out.
