Eleven years ago, Jordan Miller made the hard decision to walk away from his girlfriend of two years. What he did not know was that Jordan was also leaving behind a daughter. Micah Scott is an eleven-year-old girl just trying to be a kid and counting the days until her life would end already. But when her mother gets into a fight with one of her guys, Micah soon learns she's not alone, along with the truth about her father. But just as the truth starts to come out, her mother recovers and fights Jordan to hold onto full custody. Micah's caseworker, Mary Ann Rodriguez, is a woman who has dedicated her life to helping kids and their families find the help and love they deserve. When she accepts Micah's case, Mary Ann feels driven to help this family find peace once and for all.

Ivy Williams didn't come to Heartfelt University for drama. She came to pass her classes, chain-smoke her way through the stress, and stay out of trouble. Then she met Professor Sinclair. Cold, condescending, and infuriatingly attractive, Sinclair seems to have made it her mission to ruin Ivy's life one lecture at a time. But Ivy gives as good as she gets-and the more they clash, the more the tension starts to twist into something else. Something neither of them is ready for but both of them want far too badly. Sharp words turn into slow glances. Power plays turn personal. And soon, the only thing more dangerous than their rivalry... is what might happen if it stops. [wlw]
