Karina Ivanova is a 18 year old college student working as a waiter. She lives in The Republic of Aurora, an advanced society where a system called "Verdict" controls and manages everyone's lives. While at a restaurant with her friends, a waiter comes and gives them their bill. However, a mysterious black envelope with her name written in red catches her eyes. Putting it in her bag, she goes home to read it, only to find that she's been selected to play in "Exceptional deception". It is a tournament style game where players engage in multiple different challenges for the grand prize of 200 million dollars. Although, losing these games puts you in risk of losing 200 million dollars, putting you in detrimental debt.
