In the small town of Cosby, Tennessee, nothing seems too out of the ordinary... That is until the strange introverted kid named Miles Collins moves there to escape the trauma of his past foster care, and his lifelong hidden secret.
It's in that small town that he meets a boy named Drew Angelos, and his band of misfits; kids who like him, are also struggling with finding their place in the world...
But that isn't the only thing that's struggling... There's a rumor going around town about a missing train, one that got derailed over 20 years ago with people aboard, lost down a railroad that no one can find anymore.
After learning about the fate of the train, and the children's desire to find it, Miles ventures out with his newfound friends, only to discover that perhaps the book wasn't all the cover, and there was a lot more to unfold behind the missing train. Maybe it was all the s'mores they had... Or the fact that they were out past dark on a Friday night, Or maybe it was something entirely mystical that made time go by a lot slower than it did for the rest of the world...

BOOK ONE IN THE WICCAN SERIES Cyrus Laveau's life had never been perfect, but he always worked with what he was dealt. That included witches, pyromaniacs and human sacrifices. ... Returning to high school after being suspended for a week, Cyrus's goal was to stay under the radar. The opposite happens when on his first day back, his friend goes missing and the only one who saw the culprit was him. But how do you tell your friend's brother and the sheriff that the kidnapper was a two faced shadow creature with glowing purple eyes? As expected he immediately tells his best friend, Christian, who is expectantly skeptical until he sees first hand Cyrus's car come to life. Together the two decide to investigate not only what took their friend but a way to get them back. The situation only grows more dire when more bodies begin to pop up around town with the same symbol carved into their foreheads and the creature's attacks becoming more frequent. Admit the hallucinations, midnight skinny- dipping and breaking and entering, Cyrus discovers parts of himself he wished would have stayed buried. That he is connected to the witches that once helped to create their town over a hundred years ago and has magical powers he never knew about. It was hard enough when everyone looked at him expecting a break down or another car accident, now he had to worry about not hexing someone. The last time he checked, being a witch was not on his schedule.

When he is both rescued and kidnapped by the most fearsome pirate of them all, Nico Maheras, The West Wind, he is brought into a world so unlike his own. Scared and alone, he lashes out, and the captain lashes right back. As he is introduced to more and more of the crew, he finds that maybe, Pirates aren't as bad as he thought, and maybe the captain isn't as scary as he seems. He begins to settle into the ship, finding friendship and freedom. But when his sister is kidnapped by Redcoats for her blessing, he must take action and save her along with his new friends. But Phoenix will soon find out there is more to himself, the captain, and this story, than it seems. - - - This is the first draft of my novel, which took about a year to write. As such, this is somewhat unedited, and needs improvement. Constructive criticism is both wanted and appreciated. I hope you enjoy reading this book as much as I enjoyed writing it. Cover is mine, made with AutoDesk Sketchbook and BeFunky photo editor. - - - - Content warnings: Kidnapping, Violence, Cursing, Fighting, Torture, Death, mentions of past s*xual assault, and slavery. Please let me know if there's any other warnings that you think should be added! (I swear that makes it sound so much worse than it actually is. This is a lighthearted story about friendship, self discovery, family, and freedom.)

"I love how this book is turning out!😍 Not cliche at all!" - i_hatecliche "We might live next door to each other," Haley said, "but we don't live in the same world." Hooking her fingers around her backpack straps, she walked away from Jace. She had barely gone a few steps before he was at her side again. "What makes you believe we don't live in the same world?" he asked. "As far as I can tell, we do." "No, we don't. I'm...me and you're Jace Cortez. The dream of every girl. The friend to every guy. The star of the school. Girls. Sports. You're the ultimate player." "It sounds like you have a preconceived notion of who I am." "And it's one that has yet to be proven wrong." From books and a lifetime of sitting on the sidelines, Haley is convinced she knows how the world works, specifically high school. Everyone has a label and a box they fit in. This knowledge, paired with parents who are fighting, a brother leaving soon for college and a best friend who moved away has made her decide to never get involved. It will take being forced to work with her fellow juniors on a project, a boy next door with a infectious smile, a star gazer with an adorable puppy, and an unlikely pair of fangirls to make her see how truly wrong she was about everything. "IT'S NOT CLICHÉ!!!" - Moria987 "This is the reason y I keep coming back to this book...It's simply a breathtaking journey" - mariyamsajorawala "I don't usually comment but this is one of the best books I've read here. I love the fact that it's realistic and focuses on things that really hinder human interaction, perceptions and stereotypes." - yurfavegal "just gets better and better. How are all your characters 3D! Like this writing is so beautiful" - CrazyStarChick "Reading it for the second time, and the book still brings a smile to my face 😆" - grumpymood "She's practically Carter's twin 😂😂" - Guardian_21 #1 Breakingcliches #1 Arrogant #6 in Teen Romance
