Tom Nolan is the thirteen year younger half brother of John Nolan, due to a one night stand Evelyn Nolan but that didn't matter, she loved both her sons and both her sons loved her, most of the time. After his brother's divorce, Tom is joined by John in LA after signing up to the LAPD academy where Tom had already signed up for along with Lucy Chen and Jackson West. The four become a tight-nit group. Upon being assigned to the Mid-Wilshire station, Tom is assigned Angela Lopez as his TO, she wants to become a detective and won't take any bullshit but the two slowly fall in love. Jackson West is assigned Holly March as his TO, she's got a no-nonsense approach and used to be in the army with fellow TO Tim Bradford meaning the two had a close friendship. Lucy Chen is assigned to hard-ass TO Tim Bradford and she quickly realizes that he's gonna push her to her limits and Tim quickly realized that Lucy was going to call him out on his bullshit. Meanwhile, Tom's brother, John Nolan gets Talia Bishop, also a no-nonsense TO who wants to be detective so that way she can become LAPD Chief.
