Bev is a midwife, crushed by her husband Dan leaving her for another woman. Her pain is made worse by the fact the other woman is pregnant, something Bev can never be. Hiding her rage from the world, she fights to hold together the fragments of her life.

New mum-to-be Anne is utterly committed to her career and the opulent lifestyle she has created with husband Finn. She never wanted kids. It was not part of her life plan.

When Anne gets assigned Bev as her midwife, the women establish a bond based on the unplanned life paths they find themselves on. Each needing one another more than they knew. As their relationship grows, Anne confides in Bev that she had an affair and the baby may not be Finn's.

The news that Anne is as deceitful and despicable as Dan devastates Bev. Her hatred consumes her until she devises a plan.

Bev is going to remove Anne and take over her nest. Permanently.
