The Omega

The legend of the Omega and werewolves are widespread legends. Everyone knows some variation of the legends. What not many people know, is that werewolves exist. What even fewer people know, the story of the Omega is true. Not many wolves know it either.
The story goes that the Omega (omega does not have anything to do with "Alpha and Omega", rather omega meaning "the first") is destined to be the strongest wolf. The true leader. When in their wolf state, the Omega and his Luna can be anywhere from the average 6 feet tall, to the towering 9 feet tall, or so they say. No one has ever met an Omega, therefor no one truly knows. The Omega supposedly has a natural mate. Normally your parents would chose your mate for you. But the Omega and the Luna are different. They are destined to be together. To lead their packs to glory and power. However, this is just a legend. Well.... That's what we all thought.
Supposedly, on the wolf's 16th birthday, they would experience the transformation, and find their mate. But due to, too much inbreeding, wolves lost the ability to find their soul mates. The Omegas, or "the first ones" are pure enough to find their mates. Anyway, on a wolf's 16th birthday, the centuries old tradition, turned into a tradition of partying and parents finding mates for their children. So it's not very often where you will see the mates rejecting each other.
It used to be a special ceremony when your inner wolf found it's mate. Both would smell the most wonderful scent and then they would chase it. When the scent would be found, your inner wolf would scream "mate". If you were stupid enough to reject your mate, you would slowly be killing your inner wolf. It destroys you, rips you apart and it will sever your wolf side and you will no longer be able to phase. Not only will you lose your wolf, you will inevitably die.
