Regulus didn't have the best childhood we all know that, but he got to hogwarts and his friends, and future boyfriend, had helped with that. He wished it could have lasted longer, how loved he felt, but things happen expected or not, and that can cause those closest to push away.

The Blacks want to marry off their youngest child. He begs Sirius for help and tells him a secret: He is a man and would rather die than be forced to be anyone's wife.
