based off of two characters in a play called Trap by Steven Greg (idc how I spelled it) in this story two characters who don't end up together In the play end up in quite the situationship. as these two among with a few others are known as Pharanox, beings that take on the image of a human and feed off of fear, like a black widow does with it prey they create the fear and it fuels them... slowly and brutally

In the not-so-distant future evolved humans emerged. Those who had powers that broke conventional laws of physics, chemistry, and biology were dubbed E.H.s (evolved humans); it was wondrous for a time. Of course if there was power to be used there would be those who misuse. As String's ambitions grow beyond just controlling the city's underbelly Adlet and Jenna are forced to take action with an ally he did not desire. While prejudice against E.H.s reaches it's peak because of a horrific tragedy, the Soldiers of the New World waste no time to expand their reach and rally for their cause of taking over the city. Adlet goes to the edge of sacrificing everything and back again. On the way, betrayal awaits at every corner.
