When the Crown Yearns

Kol has lived an impoverished life for as long as she could remember. And her only bleak saving grace was an engagement with the son of a neighboring farmer barely richer than she. So imagine her surprise when a retinue sent by the newly appointed King arrives on her doorstep announcing that she has been chosen to be the next Queen. But Kol is wary.
