Everyone knows the story of Cinderella. How she had an evil step mother and awful step sisters and was treated like a slave before meeting and marrying Prince Charming. At least that's what they told the public. In reality Elie is a 15 year old boy with two older, mischievous step brothers (coincidentally the brother's Grimm) who suddenly hear of an assassination plot against the prince. Having until the stroke of midnight to infiltrate the palace and warn the prince, Elie must go against everything he believes in. This is a chance to prove himself worthy, but is it worth the risk of being hung for treason?

He's also fighting with everything he has to marry for love and not for political gain. When he nearly tramples an angel on a hunt he finds himself falling head over heels for a boy who keeps disappearing.
