Within Temptation

After a cataclysmic event at his last college, Mu Qing is swept away to Taicang University - a prestigious university for those of magical bloodlines and wealth. Mu Qing, who has no formal magical training nor a rich lineage and is instantly an outsider, however he finds a companion in Xie Lian and his annoying guard dog - Feng Xin. Mu Qing just wants to be left alone, while Feng Xin is infinitely curious about Mu Qing and the secrets he's hiding, ultimately leading to the two of them clashing... a lot. However there is more going on at Taicang university that heated rivalries and bickering. Mu Qing and Feng Xin soon find themselves in the center of a convoluted mystery and somehow have to learn to work together and figure out what's truly going on before its too late.

Or.... Mu Qing and Feng Xin play detective and maybe bite off more than they can chew.
