The Clans have not been agreeing with each other for many moons. Because of the cold leafbare, prey has been scarce and the Clans are hungry. Although newleaf is approaching and the prey is returning, new life isn't always promised.
Wolfcry wants to show his Clan he belongs...despite his family's roots.
"I don't understand? How could this have happened?"
Ridgepaw has recently started apprentice training but is terrified of his Clan's fate when cats start to disappear.
"They were everywhere. I-I couldn't stop them."
Dapplepaw wishes she could do more for her Clan though that may be hard with her circumstances.
"I'm trying so hard, how come I'm not good enough?"
Lynxwish desperately tries to uncover the truth of the warriors' disappearances.

Also, please read the chapter 'Before we get Goin' it's also important. Don't leave just yet because of the main characters name. Now that is all I have to say. You may read. Firepaw is an apprentice training to be a warrior in TreeClan. After being separated from his family by a fox, he is forced into unknown terrain and picked up by a TreeClan border patrol. Firepaw proves himself worthy of becoming an apprentice. But life as a clan cat proves to be difficult and not just because it's winter and prey is scarce. His clan mates don't trust him, the deputy and some other warriors hate his guts, and many taunt and tease him for being a rogue in his past. Plus, there is lies and betrayal at every turn.
