Frederik was an unremarkable young Danish man. Was. After his gymnasium class died in an accident in the Norwegian mountain roads, he ended up surviving due to staying home from a sickness. After this event, he stopped wasting his latent talent and studied hard, ending up as one of the first astronauts going to space on a European-built rocket. But disaster struck, and Frederik ended up dying along with his fellow astronauts as a faulty fuel tank component ignited the fuel in the upper stage of the rocket.

But this was not the end.

She suddenly found herself in the body of a young girl in Bergen. But it was not the Bergen she knew. Skyscrapers, futuristic cars, and a different yet oddly familiar flag.
Wait, a she?
That day, Norah lost something important to her identity. Checking her pants to confirm the inevitable reality she found herself in, she found nothing where there was supposed to be something.
Add to that the fact that the world as she knew it was completely different from this familiar yet alien world.
The United States of North America to the west, the European Free Trade Organization to the south, and the Soviet Union to the east. In the middle of these world powers, lay the world's premiere magitech manufacturer, the Kalmar Federation.

She had ended up in the center of innovation in the Kalmar Federation, Bergen. Known for it's significant magitech advancements and especially powerful magicians, many from across the world come to this city to delve into the wonders of modern magic. And while she had no magical abilities to her knowledge, Norah sure as hell wouldn't miss this chance to delve into the complexities of actual honest to goodness magic.

Salvage ~ V1: Nuts and Bolts (Steampunk/ Gaslamp Romantasy ~ FxM, MxM) by avaseofpeonies
47 parts Complete Mature
A Steampunk/ Gaslamp Fantasy Romance set in the industrial revolution era of a fictional world. Magic, mad science, multicultural ambiance, and political intrigue all tightly laced up into one corset and powered by the steam of two romances - one F/M and one M/M. For mature audiences, 18+. ~~~*~~~ All creations carry a trace of the maker's ethereal energy, whether deliberately placed in the magical Artifacts made by the Alchemists, or unwittingly left in the handiwork of ordinary people. Kazia can feel that energy, in both machines and people. She may not be able to do any of the grand magic other Alchemists can, but give her a damaged machine and she can trace its energy to the problem, and know precisely how to repair it. She does have one other ability. One far more dangerous. One she will never acknowledge, and will never use. Fleeing her villainous father rather than becoming his pawn, Kazia finds a peaceful life on a farm in a neighboring country, where no one knows that she is the daughter of Prince Gorvan Devratha. But with war looming between her birth country of Valesk and her new home in Caedra, how long can that peaceful life last? She can be safe in the Caedran capital, among the Queen's Alchemists, but will anyone there trust her - especially the handsome but embittered Lord Kelvaran Meratha, who suspects Kazia's father of murdering his family? Abrizhen is Kazia's older brother. He does his best to play the role of the Prince's good son and heir, but when tasked with retrieving his wayward sister, he must return to the city he'd called home for many of his youthful years. There he'll have to reckon with his past, and finally choose between the life of a dutiful prince, or the welfare of his sister - and the rekindling of an old flame. ~~~*~~~ Please see the introduction for detailed content warnings.
The Alchemist's Starling by ilovemanga2000
30 parts Complete Mature
CURRENTLY EDITING "You belong to me - completely. I can do whatever I want to you, and no one can tell me otherwise. You're mine, Chisa Hatori; my little Starling..." I start sobbing, shaking my head frantically, rejecting the terrible truth. I thrash in his arms, trying to get away. Joseph laughs at my efforts, only tightening his grip until I can't move. The fingers of his right hand find my chin, forcing me to turn my head to the right. My blurry sight is greeted by his cool grey eyes, my stomach churns. He presses his forehead against mine - the mere physical contact has me shaking. "Do you know why the fae call you, The Alchemist's Starling?" I can't answer him... I'm lost in my own emotions. "The fae can sense you," he continues, "just as they can sense Alchemists. They saw your unique, purple locks fluttering in the wind when we went outside together - like the wings of a Starling. Of course, their kind adore you, and loathe us Alchemists. The fact that they cannot have you, makes them sad. Of course, because they saw you with me - they recognised that you were mine." Someone help me... Save me from him... ***** Chisa Hatori has had a hard life. Her father left, she watched her mother die, she was torn away from her sister and placed in foster care. Chisa is gifted; she has the Sight... and she is a Sleigh Beggy. However, she views her blessing as a curse, seeing terrifying monsters wherever she goes.
