Tim had no idea an unlikely fellow trainee at the police academy named Lucy would become one of his best friends over time, a relationship forged in the fires of protecting and serving as Texas Rangers. When Lucy tells Tim that her boyfriend, Chris, proposed, and she was getting married, Tim goes to great lengths to stop the wedding. Desperate, Tim claims by Texas law, he and Lucy are common law married...and he's right.

Common law marriage: also known as de facto marriage, is a marriage between two people that consider themselves to be married without participating in a formal ceremony. Common law marriages are recognized the same way as any other kind of marriage where they're permitted in the United States.
