Mature
A group of magical teenagers have a catastrophe with a potion during a project at their magic school. Thanks to their friend who is always completely honest, the principle finds out what they were up to and they ear a punishment no magical-being would ever want.

They get forced to join one of the school exchange programs where they have to stay with a mortal. The bad thing about this is that the modern mortals are quite ignorant and annoying. (At least a variety of them are) The magical teens are treated more unfairly for things they've almost never been discriminated for in their lives than they expected to be.

Not only do they have to deal with mortals but they have to deal with danger that awaits them.
