When Knight-Enchanter Evelyn Trevelyan is ambushed by Avvar barbarians during a mission in the Frostback Basin, she becomes the most wanted mage in Thedas. When she is taken in by one of the Avvar Holds, things become even more complicated as they believe she is the woman prophesied to save the Avvar from extinction. Unwilling to let their savior go, the Thane of Redhold holds her prisoner while the other Avvar Holds seek to capture her. As her status as a mage outside the Circle of Magi brands her an apostate, she can neither go back home nor can she simply accept this new life that was thrust upon her.

This is a tale laden with magic, spirits, gods, and demons based on the Dragon Age Avvar culture. In the midst of it all is a complicated enemies-to-friends-to-lovers romance.

NO KNOWLEDGE OF DRAGON AGE IS NEEDED to enjoy, though if you have it, it only makes it more fun!
