Sloane Moore is desperate for a summer job after her 2nd year in college, and once the opportunity to be a lifeguard at Gulf Shores-a 5 hour car trip away, she was set for the summer before she got her adulthood on.
Maya Levine on the other hand grew up in Gulf Shores. She'd been a lifeguard at point 8 since she was 15. She'd officially started college last fall but dropped out in February due to her and her now ex-girlfriend's breakup getting in the way of her studies.
Sloane and Maya meeting each other was fate. The two were instant friends since they had so much in common, ergo- lacked one thing in their life; love. Sloane had an abusive boyfriend throughout her Junior and senior year of high school, leaving her heart unwilling of love, but her brain says different.
