With Catherine's scandal being the talk of the Ton, twenty-year-ld Henry David Whitbell, the third son of the Marquess and Marchioness of Glanchester, made his way to London in hopes that he would uncover the identity of The Whispering Rose, the infamous gossip columnist, and persuade the writer to clear the name of his soon-to-be debutante sister.

Nineteen-year-old Nicola Marie Green, known as Little Marie, is content with her life as her father's helper in his grocer at Fleet Street. Curious by nature, she solves little mysteries that piques her interest. Yet, one visit from a nobleman in her father's shop would need quite an effort to resolve.

As they work together to unravel the identity of the Ton's gossip columnist, they discover that it's not only the figure's identity that needs resolving, but also feelings that needs sorting and An Unlikely Match in the making.
