Jessica Cameron is a helpful and responsible girl. Because she has to be. When her older brother died when she was 11, her parent's couldn't cope. Her mother became a shell of herself for months and refused to eat. Her father took to whiskey and acid, hoping to forget the the hole his son left in his life. 

But no amount of drugs could bring his son back.

Jessica had to grow into her teens alone, and with a raging drunk in the house. So when she gets a text from a long lost friend, it's like her prayers have been answered. She can finally leave.
